Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Action, Outlaw Vendetta, 'KILL RONNIE CAMPBELL' when reading the last two books you can see why some of the outlaws family and friends want Ronnie dead. Book #1 THE PONY EXPRESS RIDER starts with Ronnie getting told to get out of bed and chase the two work horses after he didn't fasten the top rail of the corral and they got out with Ronnie having to give chase for miles to recapture them. On the return trip he hears gunfire and can see smoke coming from the cabin that his father and he live in along the stream where they were panning for gold. With his father killed by the Paiute Indians, Ronnie Campbell was alone in Eastern Nevada, he had a three day ride to get supplies from the nearest store. Ruby Gold is a time just after the Pony Express had quit operating, Ronnie had a developing ranch in the Ruby Mountains in Eastern Nevada along with an active gold mine. The Paiute Indians play a major part in all three books, starting with killing Ronnie's father. Later in the books they become a living part of a working ranch and also help with dealing with some of the outlaws that show up to steal cattle or even do harm to Ronnie and his close knit family. US Deputy Marshal McPherson is a major player in the second book and his presence is felt in book three. Larry likes to shoot people and is a fair hand with the women, most of the women seem to like him a lot. If you the reader like action and as some have put it, these books are the true reflection of the human condition at that time period. The women are decision makers and know what they want, they love with all of their being and will pull the trigger and kill an outlaw in a heartbeat. They all can ride a horse and pack a gun and in many situations they rule the moment by using all of the weapons they possess. This third book is KILL RONNIE CAMPBELL. I feel it has grown along with Ronnie Campbell and Abby, the scope of what they are doing in now a multi state operation. The Ranch and Gold Mine in Nevada are doing fine, Ronnie and Abby find an opportunity to develop a horse racing track in Sacramento and also were able to purchase a large ranch bordering on the Rancho he is already part owner with Louis and his wife Juanita. The three books in this series are all dealing with strong family relations along with trouble inside of the family to keep things interesting. Many outlaws find their way into Ronnie's path as he works at developing his Nevada Ranch and Gold Mine, gun fights, removing many outlaws along the way as he lives his life. Ronnie and US Marshal McPherson get involved with killers of all kinds, some are crime king pins other are just wanting to steal what others have earned. All outlaws seem to find Ronnie Campbell hard to kill and add US Marshal McPherson to the mix things stay very active. TO ENJOY THIS BOOK TO THE FULLEST YOU SHOULD PURCHASE THE FIRST TWO, THIS WAY YOU GET TO ENJOY THE FULL BACKGROUND LEADING UP TO THIS FINAL BOOK OF THE SERIES. ENJOY THE RIDE.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. The biography covering the formative years and education of Dr. Connie Guion, who attended Wellesley and Cornell Medical College, with an internship and residency at Bellevue. The biography ends in 1919, when Guion was 37, though she would practice medicine until her death at 88, becoming known as "the dean of women doctors." She was the first woman in the U.S. to be made a professor of clinical medicine; the first woman to become a member of the medical board of the New York Hospital; and the first living female doctor in the U.S. to have a hospital building named in her honor. Guion never married, but had a lifelong partnership with Ruth Smith, a physical education teacher. This copy is signed by Guion and by the two authors, Campion and Stanton on a publisher's tipped-in leaf. Gift inscription front flyleaf and owner's stamp front pastedown. Possible water damage to rear board and spine, and some discoloration there; a good copy in a very good, price-clipped dust jacket. Unless otherwise noted, our first editions are first printings.

Condition: VERY GOOD. First printing. A biography covering Dr. Connie Guion's early life, growing up in North Carolina near Lincolnton, her attendance at Wellesley, and as a professor at Vassar and Sweet Briar. She earned her M.D. from Cornell in 1917, graduating first in her class, with an internship and residency at the ornell division at Bellevue, where - among other things - she successfully rebelled against the 24 hour shifts and founded a clinic for affordable care. To cite just a few of the firsts in her career, she was the first woman in the U.S. to be made a professor of clinical medicine; the first woman to become a member of the medical board of the New York Hospital; and the first living female doctor in the U.S. to have a hospital building named in her honor. The biography ends in 1919, when Guion was 37, though she would practice medicine until her death at 88, becoming known as 'the dean of women doctors.' Earlier in her career, starting 1908 until she left 5 years later to attend medical school, Guion was a chemistry professor at Sweet Briar College (she is also credited with founding the school bookstore) and at the time this book was published the Connie Guion Science Building was under construction at Sweet Briar. INSCRIBED to a Sweet Briar alumna, Cordelia [Penn] Cannon and dated April 22, 1965 - in the month of publication, Laid in is a small newspaper clipping showing Dr. Guion as the cornerstone for the Guion Science Building was set in place. Illustrated with photographs. Index. xii 378 pp. Near fine in blue cloth with gilt lettering in a very good dust jacket (price-clipped, some edgewear to the dj, small spot at upper edge of front cover).
