Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Washington, DC: United States Department of the Interior / National Park Service, 1954. First Edition. Staple-bound octavo pamphlet (20.5cm). 47 pp. Pictorial paper wrappers. Black and white illustrations. Wrappers have minor toning to edges, small spot on back. No tears. No chips. Binding sound. Overall, Very Good. This volume, meant to help park interpreters work with groups, is a sequel to a NPS training publication called "Talks," published in 1953. These manuals came out at a time when the National Parks were experiencing a huge post-war bump in visitors. In 1954, there were 47.8 million people visiting National Parks, up from only 11.7 million a decade prior. Scarce in retail. Only 9 copies found in OCLC.
