While this is a stated Second Edition, it should be known this is the first hardcover edition of this book as the first printing was a pamphlet. Even more interesting is that author A.E. Van Vogt went on to become one of the most prolific, celebrated science fiction writers of his era. Van Vogt would also work closely with L. Run Hubbard on Dianetics; the basis of Scientology. This book serves as a guide for anyone, professionals to the layman, on how to hypnotize others, all the way down to the exact language to use; and signs to watch for. This book comes from the personal collection of noted doctor, professor and psychoanalyst Dr. Henry Guze; founder of The American Academy of Psychotherapists and the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis and cofounder/President of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex. His signature and ownership stamp is on the front free endpaper. Book is fine in an about near fine DJ. The original DJ has its $4.50 price intact on flap. DJ shows minor soiling on spine and light rubbing along spine-bend. Laid-in is a signed letter from the publisher asking for Dr. Guze's opinion of the book. Fine/VG+.
