Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. First edition, privately printed. A personal narrative of Remington's adventures exploring, prospecting, trail breaking, dragging sleds, wading rivers, bear hunting, Indians, gold panning, while living in crude cabins and tents. The author was a member of the Alaska Yukon Pioneer's Club of Los Angeles. In 1896 he crossed the Valdez Glacier and ascended the Copper River with other gold seekers, then lived in the Valdez area for years. This is an interesting copy. The blank endpaper is signed by Remington, with his address and some notes in green ink. Laid in is a small card, stamped with his name and "author and copyright owner", along with the title and what seems to have been the cost of the book back in the day. Also stamped with his name on the title page. There are small edits in the same green ink in the book, so it appears he edited it after publication. They are all small edits, mostly one word, correcting a misspelling and such. The book is scarce in any case; this makes for a very unique copy. Hardcover, with bright gilt tiles on the front, illustrated with 10 plates, including a frontispiece that is two-color, 200 pages. Very good. Signed by Author(s).…
