The dust jacket flaps WERE PREVIOUSLY glued to the boards. It is an Ex-library edition but the only evidence of it having been one are library stamps on each of the closed page edges and a discard stamp on the back free endpaper. The inside pages are very clean. I found only a few spots on the interior pages and have included 2 photos, This is an NEAR- excellent copy of this extremely rare title. One-inch crack to top front spine edge. Blue and white plaid-patterned end papers. Very light foxing throughout, pages lightly toned. PO inscriptions from 1851 and 1961.

An attractive First Issue dustjacket that has the publisher's $3.50 p (illustrator). Handsomely bound in the publisher's original black cloth with gold lettering with scattered flecking and leeching to the top 1" of the cloth of the front panel. Spine dulled. The original dust jacket has the price of $3.50 and has large pieces missing at the top and bottom of the spine ends. The front fold is separated and the rear fold has been professionally strengthened. There is tape residue along the top edge of the rear panel at the verso. A good only jacket in a very good copy of the book. First Edition with the "A" and the Scriber's Seal on the copyright page.
