Bien que l'opéra n'ait pas connu un succès immédiat à sa création en 1863, sa redécouverte au XXe siècle témoigne de l'évolution des goûts musicaux et de l'appréciation croissante pour les compositions de Bizet, dont "Carmen" reste l'exemple le plus célèbre. Papier légèrement bruni avec signes de rousseurs sans gravité. Sinon bien conservé.
