Hardcover. Condition: Good. Early 3/4 leather and marbled boards. 12mo. Illustrated with 7 mounted photographs. Text in French. A collection of animal fables for young readers with titles such as "La Mouche", "Poules et Canards", "Aventures de la famille Souris", etc. The tales are illustrated by 7 mounted photographs of scenes including a young girl, a rabbit family, a dog and chickens, and the like. These photographs are based on designs by Erica Lagier. The author was headmistress of L'Ecole et Jardin d'Enfants de Chantepoulet in Geneva. The OCLC lists only one copy of this work, at the Newberry Library. In terms of condition the binding is well-worn with heavy scuffing and wear to the leather spine and corner tips. Internally the text is printed on brittle paper but in good shape with some soiling and wear. The title page is loose with some light chipping at the left side. The frontispiece page (with a photo of a sleeping girl) is chipped in the upper blank corner. Page 80 is soiled and spotted and the facing photograph of a bird family lacks a small piece at the bottom. The rest of the photos are in good condition, although a few are somewhat faded. There are some pencil notations to a few pages of the book.
