Hardcover. Condition: Good. Illuminated (illustrator). This volume, published in Latin, was owned for generations by a German family that brought it to the US in the early 1900's. There is question as to the boards being pigskin. They appear to be. The cover has discoloration and dark markings, the back board is slightly buckled. The dark 'smudges' appear several times throughout the volume. The binding is very secure and pages are remarkable clean other than the total discoloration one the first and last page. It is solid and very readable. There is no fragile feel to it at all. There are what appear to be hand written owners marks in three places and a five line inscription on the last page. There is half of a typed, aged index card that reads, " This CATULLUS is the only copy left, all others including the original MS having been burned. 1738" More photos can be made available.
