"L'opera rivendica le prerogative della società civile rispetto al potere della chiesa di cui critica i benefici, compresa la possibilità di mettere libri all'indice; contiene anche un'analisi fiscale nel trattare dell'immunità ed esenzione dei beni ecclesiastici" [cfr. Venturi, Settecento riformatore, II, pp. 237-249]. La prima edizione è stata stampata a Firenze nel 1768, la seconda ad Amsterdam nel 1783 ma città d'invenzione poichè anche la seconda risulterebbe edita a Firenze (Cfr. Diz. di opere anonime e pseudonime). Antica nota manoscritta al frontespizio. In discrete condizioni. Copertina morbida coeva con titolo manoscritto al piatto anteriore in discrete condizioni con usure marginali e mancanze. Legatura in discrete condizioni con rotture.
