VERY GOOD condition.
Published by Thriller Book Club, 1959
Seller: Country House Library, Gloucester, United Kingdom
Hardcover. Condition: Used; Good. When your wife leaves you for another man and, not long after her divorce and remarriage, dies from a fall in her bath, you might be inclined to shrug your shoulders and add a sad philosophical ?Well, that?s that!? But Colonel Barne of the War Office felt rather differently; several doubts assailed him regarding the all too apparent accident. This and other doubts nagged at Colonel Barne and would not allow him to rest; his investigations took him to Somerset, to Lincoln, and as far as Rome before his inexpert, but effective, probing of problem was rewarded. In Death by Marriage, E. G. Cousins diverges somewhat from the beaten track of crime fiction; his story is not so much a whodunit - that is clear from the beginning - but a ?how-did-he-do-it? Title: Death by Marriage Author: E. G. Cousins Publisher: Thriller Book Club Publication Date: 1959 Format: Hardcover Condition: This book is in good condition for its age other than some minor signs of wear. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First Thus. A really nice bright copy of this Thriller Book Club edition which was published the year after the First Edition. Lovely clean boards with crisp title lettering on the spine. There's a very slight lean on the spine (ie. slightly cocked) and some very minor knocking to the corner tips. Internally the book is very clean with no inscriptions and looks to have been hardly read. Perhaps a hint of toning to the end papers but not really at all noticeable. The dust jacket is really bright, not sun faded and not price clipped. The mainly white back cover of the dj looks a little toned and scuffed, which is understandableand there's a tiny bit of creasing/wear at the fore edge corner tips. In all though this is a terrific, collectable copy.
