Er veröffentlichte eigene Gedichte in Taschenbüchern und Wiener Zeitschriften und machte sich als Übersetzer vor allem englischer Lyrik einen Namen. - "Im Jahre 1843 erhielt er von der belgischen Regierung den Auftrag den Orient zu besuchen und die heiligen Länder zu bereisen, womit ein längst tief gehegter Wunsch Craigher's in Erfüllung ging.
