The author has traced the geology, early aboriginal inhabitants the explorers over the years through to the pioneering settlers and to move recent times. She has captured the humour and optimism of the early days, and produced a very reliable account of how the district evolved. This book enables us to reflect on the past as we enjoy the present; to develop a sense of history; and to realise that the efforts and virtues of ordinary men and women make a good community. Overall an excellent and neat copy of the book.
