Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. First Edition (NAP). This book came from the collection of the renowned sociologist Daniel Bell. He did not sign his name in the book. You can see the red covers in the photos. They are very clean. They have very little wear, a teeny bit of rubbing at a few corners, and on the front bottom edge. The gilt lettering on the spine is nicely bright. The top page edge is red. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and tight covers as well. The pages are exceptionally clean. Scrolling through, I'm not finding any instances of soiling. I'm not finding any creasing. There are no markings. No attachments. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. I've always had it in a fitted protective cover. The jacket is in solid shape. There is a tiny bit of soiling around the letter 'U' in 'Causes' on the front cover. There is a bit of scuffing at the spine ends, a sliver of loss at the bottom one, and there is a small tear off the top edge of the rear cover (also on the rear cover a small scuff and a small spot). The flaps look very good. They are clean. There is a thin crease off the rear flap's top edge. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. From the dust jacket: 'This work seeks to show that the basic foundation of philosophy-- the realm called metaphysics or ontology-- is not some abstract realm of human understanding but, rather, that it produces the very reality of the individual, the given society, the whole of humanity and the entire experienced reality. The power, or drive, produced by the various causes of reality brings forth the facts which allow for the beginning, the development, the fruitification (that's a new one to me) and the completion of any given reality. Most people do not know about the basic causes even though these causes are lived out through their very lives. They are also lived out by societies and whole cultures. Through these causes, the author tells us, or brought forth the fullest developments of reality by the concerted action of all participants in the reality.'.
