Barro Colorado lies midway in the Panama Canal Zone its rugged terrain blanketed by tropical rain forest; although only six square miles in extent, it supports more than 1,350 species of higher plants, a total approaching that of the British Isles. The island is one of the world's most important biological preserves. There is a very small amount of red pen underlining with occasional comments in the margin. ( A very small fraction of less than 1% of the total). Volume itself has blue cloth covers with some brown on the spine on which is gilt lettering. The price is written on the first page and there is a bit of edge and corner wear. Dust jacket is protected in an archival quality Brodart cover. Dj has a small tear at the bottom of the front page; however, the dj looks quite nice in its protective cover. Any foreign shipment would require substantial additional shipping cost. Available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box.
