Mass market paperback. First as such. originally published in hardcover in 1939. modest paper a bit tanned and minor wear to the extremities else a very good copy. covers are clean and bright. see scans. spine is square and straight.

Mass Market Paperback. Condition: Near Very Good. A Popular Library Wartime Book, mass market paperback, has a tiny lean to binding, light bumps to spine ends and cover corners with short diagonal creases to corners, a longer crease to the upper corner of back cover, some edgewear to covers, slight sunning to spine, foxing to edges of endpages, and previous owner's name to inside front cover with a very small "284" to front hinge near the title. Overall, a solid, Near Very Good copy.
