[5], 220-482, i-xxxiii + 1p. of advertisements.; 9 x 6.25 in. Poor volume with very good folding maps. Some chips and closed tears to brittle wrappers: front cover is a…ttached to back cover by a strip of brown tape around spine; back cover remains attached to textblock. Significant damage to backstrip; two inches are torn off at head and tail; remaining paper is split and creased between signatures; "documentary history" in title is still legible. Bookplate removed from inside cover; tape residue remains, with offsetting on first page of text. Text is clean and toned with a few chips to bottom outside corner. Folding maps are very good.

Tan stiff paper wraps, chipped with approx. 5% total loss at bottom front corner, along front joint, rear fore-edge, and both spine extremities. Front cover mostly detached along front joint. 215 pp. Several leaves show light fore-edge chipping; the front cover through p. 10 show a… short (approx. 3/4") closed tear along fore-edge extending into margin only, affecting no text; slight loss to bottom corners of early leaves, through about p. 30. Former owner signatures on front cover, former owner address inscription on title page. Worn but complete, original publication (not a later reprint), acceptable reading/reference copy, and quite scarce in any condition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.
