The main characters are a Quaker family; they move from Ohio to Nebraska in the mid-1800's. The cloth has a few spots of sheen loss. The cover's corners have a little color loss from shelf wear rubbing. The text block ends have darkened. The top end has a 1/4 in. stain and a 1 in., light line of ink. The front endpaper and the back, blank page each have an owner's name in light ink. The bottom edges of some pages are a little ragged from rough-cut opening. The back free endpaper is missing.
