Long gift inscription on the verso of the front flyleaf, dated 12-17-1905. There is a 1/2" closed tear at the bottom edge of this page (not affecting the inscription). VOLUME ONE is bound in library dark blue buckram cloth, with bright gilt type on spine. According to the note verso the title page "This facsimile reprint has been photoreprodued on acid free paper. Hardcover binds are archival quality". Although a withdrawn library copy the only markings is a stamp on the front end page. All other sheets are near fine. Being a facsimile reprint, the photos are of poor quality, lacking detail. VOLUME TWO is bound in library brown buckram cloth with white type on spine. Unlike volume one--although also lacking the original binding-- this volume is composed entirely of the original pages printed in 1910. There are scores of pictures of personalities in Goodhue County and they are original high quality prints, several having a tissue guard. These are important historical records rarely offered as a complete two volume set.
