Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Limited edition. frontis, photo, 52p. Original multicolored cloth. 24 cm. Patterned glasseine jacket (probably original) chipped around ends of backstrip. Originally silver (we think) title labels on backstrip and front cover now mostly brown rather than silver, and difficult to read. Cover corners and edges rubbed. Copy No. 50 of 85 large paper copies, Signed by Van Vechten -- perhaps all of the large paper copies were. Copy number 50 of 85 large paper copies. Compiled before Van Vechten's controversial novel about Harlem appeared and before he had stopped writing to concentrate on photography.
