Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book examines the growth of primary education in France, from its humble beginnings to its impressive expansion, particularly after 1830. The author analyzes the various laws and ordinances that shaped the educational landscape, as well as their impact on the material and moral development of society. Drawing on statistical data, he explores the relationship between education and crime rates, challenging the notion that increased literacy necessarily leads to a decrease in criminal activity. The work delves into the complex interplay of factors influencing the moral development of individuals, highlighting the importance of moral education alongside intellectual instruction. It also discusses the influence of harmful literature, particularly the prevalence of licentious and immoral books, on the moral well-being of the population, especially among the youth. The book concludes by emphasizing the crucial role of education in shaping the moral fabric of society and the need for a holistic approach to the development of young minds. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. Add to basketCouverture rigide. | [ENGLISH DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS] First issue of this spectacular edition of The Imitation of Christ, published by Léon Curmer in 1856-1857 and conceived throughout in imitation of illuminated manuscripts.
