Ouvrage ayant pour sujet les travaux de recherches et la vie du célèbre astronome polonais, Nicolas Copernic (1473-1543), qui est à l'origine de la théorie de l'héliocentrisme (La Terre tourne autour du Soleil et non l'inverse). L'auteur, Jean Czynski (1801-1867) fut avocat, écrivain, essayiste politique polonais, militant indépendantiste, socialiste utopique, fouriériste, démocrate radical et un fervent défenseur de la culture polonaise. Dans cette étude sur Copernic, au delà des travaux scientifiques de ce dernier, Czynski essaie de prouver combien Copernic a influé par ses découvertes sur le mouvement intellectuel et moral de la civilisation. Pour lui, Copernic est avant tout un socialiste antérieur de trois siècles à Saint-Simon et à Charles Fourier, un réformateur méconnu dont les découvertes sidérales ont préparé de longue main les doctrines humanitaires que ces hardis novateurs se sont efforcés de propager (in.
