The first murder is ingeniously committed with articles which are to be found in every household, and is so carried out as to be the perfect crime, leaving the murderer unsuspected. Yet as a result of this murder the necessity arises for a further crime. As a result the police machine begins to work and the action moves rapidly to different part of the country, giving thrills in plenty, and as the drama unfolds the reader is carried onward to a superb climax. The characters are drawn with a sympathetic pen, and lift this novel above the usual type of thriller. The motives which encourage ordinary law-abiding people to assist the murderer to escape his pursuers make interesting reading, and the intriguing nature of the story promises a thrilling time to all who read it.
