This is the story of a Spaniard who worked as a slave under the Nazi taskmasters for five years in France and the Channel Islands during the German Occupation in World War II, and who in the end found peace as a British subject in Guernsey with a wife and family and the kindly care of animals. The book is staple-bound in the original card covers with titling and a striking colour illustration on the front cover and a map of the Channel Islands on the rear cover. The book is in very good condition with some shelf wear and light soiling to the covers and a small stain around the top corner of the front cover. The contents are secure and clean with no inscription.
