In WWI she worked with her mother in France supporting soldiers who had lost limbs, providing artificial aids. She was again in Fance in 1940. Working for church organisations and supporting the Girl Guides she travelled widely, Chapters on Pre WW1 Kashmir and the North West Frontier, Burma in 1914, North Borneo, Malaya, Fiji, Queensland and New Zealand. She also provided welfare to remote gun stations in Orkney in WWII. Authors signature with presentation inscription on the title page. The book is clean and toght but has satamps of St Joseph's Convent, Trochrague, Girvan - referred to in the presentation inscription. In unclipped d/w but wiyh some old sellotape stains tp the flaps and the pastedowns as eeen. This econd edition apperas tp have been publisged befire the first edition according to dates on the title page. See scans.
