After graduating from Presbyterian College, he was drafted by the Green Bay Packers and later played with Canada's Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He received his Master's and Ph.D. at the Univ of S.C. in psychology, served on the faculty of colleges here and abroad and was the author of many books.
