Barnes (June, 1814), and other (1814) statements by R. O. K. Bennett & John Griscom, on the reverse. Old calf over boards. The leather on the spine and outer hinges has been replaced with brown, leather-textured cloth, and with brown cloth tape repairs to the inner hinges. The leather on the early covers shows chipping away, and much wear; some age-related browning to the endpapers, page margins, a few marginal stains. Cleveland, Ohio Antiquarian Bookseller's stamp on the front free endpaper. With the bookplate of Cleveland, Ohio based book collector, William G. Mather (1857-1951) on the front paste-down endpaper, he has also added his name in ink, and the date he acquired this book, on the title-page: Wm. Gwinn Mather 11/10/[18]79; with the name and date of an earlier owner, in ink, on the upper title-page margin: E. G. Livingston, May 1815. Scarce item.
