Dat laatste stuk, geschreven door Van der Winden, was het eerste Nederlandse stuk waarin werd afgeweken van de Frans-classisistische toneelwetten die tot dan toe het treur- en blijspel hadden beheerst. Het ging op 10 maart 1760 in première en werd de jaren daarna regelmatig opgevoerd. De zeer populaire 'Don Quichot' van Langendijk is vanaf 1712 vele malen opgevoerd, hoewel deze zesde druk van 1736 de eerste is die bij de officiële schouwburgdrukker is verschenen. De regenten hadden dus voor hem een uitzondering op hun regels gemaakt en hem toegestaan zijn toneelwerk zelf uit te geven. 'De triomfeerende medeminnaars' bevat een opdracht aan Jan Jacob Glimmer, ondertekend met Door yver bloeid de konst. Onder die zinspreuk werkten de acteurs Enoch Krook (1664-1732) en Daniel Kroon (gestorven in 1716) samen bij het schrijven van toneelspelen. Uitgever van alle zes stukken was Izaak Duim, die ruim vijftig jaar (van 1732 tot 1780) de vaste drukker van de Amsterdamse Schouwburg is geweest.
