"Endovascular neurosurgery, or interventional neuroradiology, has developed rapidly over the last 50 years and has posed a challenge to the established mode of open surgery. [Alfred J Luessenhop, an American neurosurgeon] can be regarded as the father of endovascular neurosurgery.
