This history of the regiment by Daniel Macnamara, who served as its commissary sergeant and rose to become regimental quartermaster. The regiment was engaged at Hanover Court House, Gaines Mill, Malvern Hill, Wilderness, Spotsylvania and other battles on the Peninsula and with the Fifth Corps.
