RENARD, (trace claire d'humidité en haut des 16 pages de texte), 16 pages, 1677, Amsterdam Justus Dankerts Editeur, bon état compilé par Joost Vermaarsch; et remarquablement propagé par Justus Dankerts pour le GRONDIGE BEWYS-REDENEN DER BOUW-KUNST, édition richement illustrée d'un manuel d'architecture rédigé par un maître maçon, JOOST VERMAARSCH. Il emprunte ouvertement aux classiques de l'architecture, nommant Scamozzi, Palladio et Viniola sur sa page de titre. Il aborde la projection mathématique, la décoration architecturale, les cinq ordres de colonnes de l'architecture classique et plus particulièrement les théories de Scamozzi, Palladio et Vignola, chacune traitée dans un chapitre paginé séparément. En tant que maître maçon pratiquant à Leiden, le point de vue de l'auteur revêt un intérêt particulier lorsqu'il aborde la conception de briques décoratives et de plâtres pour socles et chapiteaux de colonnes pour portes, passerelles, fenêtres, etc., de gels, de plafonds et d'autres ouvrages de maçonnerie. Il note que toutes ces conceptions peuvent être construites avec les outils de mesure les plus simples. La tavola riporta 18 vedute di fortezze del Peloponneso in riquadri di circa mm 80x140; a partire in alto a sinistra: S. maura, Castel Tornese, Athene, Lepanto, Corinto, Zarnata, Megara, Patrasso, Zante, Cerigo, Napoli di Romania, Cefalonia, Malvasia, Navarino, Modone, Coroni, Calamata. Il titolo Ë su nastro al centro. Splendido esemplare perfettamente conservato ed a pieni margini. Nr.cat: Cod 1396.

Incisione in rame, colorata d'epoca, 502x600. Buon esemplare con lievi e piccoli aloni marginali. La famiglia Dankerts, tre generazioni di stampatori e cartografi, fu tra le pi? attive per circa un secolo e nella seconda parte del secolo produsse numerosi atlanti. Nr.cat: P5250209.

First state (out of three) antique double hemisphere world map from a Dutch bible by Cornelis Dankerts (Danckerts), engraved by Albert Schut, printed in 1710. This map is the first state out of 3 (with 'tot Amsterdam Nieuwelijks uyt Gegeven door Cornelis Dankerts voor aen de Nieuwendyck in den Atlas met Privilege' at bottom left. California is shown as an island and Terra Esonis stretches from just above California nearly to Asia and the land of Yedso above Japan. North and south polar projections appear at the top and bottom between the spheres. In each upper corner are illustrations of Ptolemaic theory on the revolution of the planets and stars around the earth. In the lower corners are diagrams of the movement of the Sun throughout varying degrees of latitude and a plan of the Sun, Moon and Earth during lunar and solar eclipses. There are extensive notations in Dutch at the top and a keyed table of latitude at the bottom. Dutch text on verso. Repairs troughout (top, bottom, left, verso etc.). Please study image carefully.
