The literature survey presented in the introductory chapter shows that no work has been done on mixed ligand complexes of Co(II),Ni(II),Zn(II)and Cd(II) with 1,1-dicyanoethylene-2,2-dithiolate/1-cyano-1-carboethoxyethylene-2,2-dithiolate and nitrogen donor specially with aromatic diamines such as o-phenylenediamine (OPD) and their reaction products with heterocyclic ternary monoamine [pyridine (py), -picoline ( -pic), beta-picoline (beta-pic) or Gamma-picoline (Gamma-pic)].
