Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. This fifth volume of the Masonic Book Club presents material that is rare and not easily accessible to the average Masonic reader. Dr. D'Assigny's works are not earth-shattering. His literary effort should be read in the light of the days in which he lived. They caused only a faint ripple in a narrow field when they were published, and very promptly dropped from sight, only to be unearthed over a century later. They are curiosities, yet; but most interesting curiosities. His Serious and Impartial Enquiry engages in the usual flights of historical fantasy, after the pattern so well initiated by Dr. James Anderson a few years before. His Answer to the Pope's Bull and his Answer to the Enemies of Free-Masonry may have required more courage than most of us realize today. So let us not underestimate the effect such a strong defense of the Craft might have had upon the readers of that day. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Buch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -1764. This volume contains an introductory sketch on Royal Arch Masonry from 1743-1893. Royal Arch Masonry was believed to have been begun in the year 1740, but whether in Scotland or England, evidence is lacking. This dissertation discusses many aspects of Royal Arch Masonry. Also found in this volume is an exact facsimile of Dr. Dassigny's serious and impartial enquiry into the cause of the present decay of Freemasonry in the kingdom of Ireland. Humbly addressed to all the brethren accepted of or before and since the Constitutions. To which are added such instructive remarks as may be found useful to revive the honor of that Antient Craft. As likewise, by way of appendix, will be inserted the old and new regulations of the London Constitutions, by the consent and approbation of the Grand Lodge of Ireland, and dedicated to the right worshipful and right Hon. the Lord Viscount Allen, Grand Master of this kingdom. The whole adorned with a curious cooper plate suitable to the Order and design. This enquiry is written in Old English and due to its age, some pages are spotty or faded. 112 pp. Englisch.
