Print. Condition: Fine. First Edition. First Edition. Print. Hand carved and printed by David Wolfe at Wolfe Editions, this work is based on the renowned French woodcut circa 1499. It is the first known image of the inside of a print shop. It was typical of the time to see images that depicted the various stations of life, from…beggar to pope. In each scene could be seen either skeletons or zombies assisting people, the intent being to show that no matter who you are, death comes for us all. David copied the original as closely as possible and carved it on a one inch thick piece of wood and printed it on a Vandercook prrof press. Bright and clean. Approx. 18"x24".
