This hardback biography, with a foreword by HRH Prince Philip, covers Colonel Philip Toosey and his role in the building of the bridge over the River Kwai, drawing on the historical events behind the well-known film. The cover shows a sepia photograph of the wooden railway bridge with a train crossing, and an inset portrait of Toosey in uniform. The green cloth boards are visible at the spine, with the title, author and Athlone Press lion device printed there.
