Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book offers a fascinating glimpse into the inner workings of 19th-century New York City politics through the eyes of a young upstate district attorney. The author paints a vivid picture of Tammany Hall's notorious election practices and the colorful cast of characters involved in the political machine. Readers will gain insights into the methods used by political bosses to maintain their power and the ways in which immigrants and the working class were manipulated for political gain. The book provides a unique perspective on the social and political landscape of the time and serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked political ambition and the importance of civic engagement. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
