In the preface that Morgan Dix wrote on July 8, 1879 (the year Dr. De Koven died), Dix refers to members of the family of the late Dr. de Koven & the Messrs. Appleton his publishers requesting that he write the preface for this volume. This book includes 30 Sermons. Please… see the photographs of the Table of Contents for the 2-page list of Sermon titles. Tight hardcover book in good condition. 12mo 364 pp. Green boards and backstrip with gold title on the backstrip. The book is tight. The boards have a little wear & edgewear with lightly bumped corners. The backstrip has some edgewear. The gold lettering is very bright. The previous owner wrote name on ffep. The first few pre-pages have some soiling.All of the leaves except the last page are in very good condition with no markings. The last page of text has some discoloration and a 1/4" closed horizontal tear. There is one hinge split at page 172-173 with no loose pages. Ships within 24 hours. Scans available upon request.
