Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Stated First Edition (with Random House Number Line to 2-- the unique way they indicate a first edition). A Maddick Manuscripts Book. Sixteen pages of black and white photographs. You can see the blue covers in the photos. They are quite clean. The silver and orange lettering on the spine is nicely bright. There's just a little bit of crinkling at the spine ends, no tears. The cover edges look very good, no rubbing. The same goes for the cover corners. The page edges are perfectly clean. The spine has a moderate forward lean off its top edge. The book is solidly bound from cover to cover. The covers are nicely tight. The pages are exceptionally clean. Scrolling through I found only one instance of soiling, a small, light tan spot just off the edge of both sides of one page, far from the print. The pages are lightly, uniformly toned. I haven't found any conspicuous creasing, no turned-down corners or placeholder creases. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. There is a penned inscription on the half-title page. It reads: 'Andy, Merry Christmas 1972, Dad.' There is no other writing to be found anywhere else of the book. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It's very clean. There are a few tiny scuffs off the top edge of the spine. There is one little tear off the rear covers top edge. The flaps are very clean, no tears, no conspicuous creasing. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. I have always had it in a fitted protective cover. From the dust jacket: 'Now, in The Open Man, his diary of the 1969-1970 NBA season, Dave DeBusschere tells the ultimate story of the New York Knicks. It is a perceptive, knowledgeable account of the team without a superstar that ran off eighteen consecutive victories, coasted to its divisional title, then overcame a crippling injury (to Willis Reed) to become the champions of the world.'.
