History of the Viennese Company Friedrich Goldscheider, founded in 1885 to become one of the leading ceramics manufacturers in Europe. Profusely illustrated with 548 striking reproductions of Goldscheider products, mostly in color, with some photographs and documents, a catalog of more than 4,000 model numbers and more than 1,600 models reproduced in color and b/w. The work contains a comprehensive list of artists with biographical information on 504 artists as well as a marks table with 163 marks reproduced. Includes pointers for collectors. The Goldscheider products were made of faience and terra-cotta as well as bronze and alabaster in period styles of Historicism, Art Nouveau and Art Déco. Among the artists represented by the company were Walter Bosse, Valerie Wieselthier, Alexandre-Louise-Marie Charpentier, Demetre Chiparus, Stephan Dakon, Benno Geiger, among many others. Minor wear.
