Condition: Good/Very Good. no date, 2 parts in 1 volume, viii 184: iv 184pp, hand coloured frontispiece, publisher's red cloth decorated in gilt and black (light edge-wear, corners bumped, top inch of the top joint split, spine discoloured), all edges gilt, joints cracked internally, modern woodcut bookplate by Andy English and small ownership label on the front free endpaper, small 8vo (166x103mm).

Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Much of the spine is missing. Professional tape strengthening is holding the front cover in place. Scarce.

Hard covers. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st edition. Owner's signature. No date, but the publisher's advertisements include books published in 1859 so this is very likely the first edition of a very popular book. Unillustrated apart from the frontispiece which shows men at work in a walled garden. Cover rubbed, lower corner bumped. Weight: 1 Language: English.
