Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Mudge and Son, Printers, Boston, 1863, Author's Edition, printed for private circulation. Frontispiece portrait of the author. The book contains 6 poems "A Ballad of Freedom", "The Copperhead", "When Will Papa Come Back", "The Wood of Gettysburg", "Good-By", and "An Idyl of the War". This slim volume, 63 pages, is a small format book with pages measuring 7" X 43/4". The book is bound in embossed brown cloth with gilt lettering on the cover. Slight chipping at the extremities, but the book is square and tight. Internally, the book is near fine with not a hint of discoloration. A very nice copy of an American Civil War item.
