Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. A substantial professional collection examining the relationship between clinical hypnosis and behavior therapy, edited by psychiatrist and hypnosis researcher Edward Dengrove, M.D. The contributed studies address the theoretical foundations of hypnosis, conditioning and suggestibility, behavioral modification, clinical applications, and the integration of hypnotic techniques with contemporary psychotherapeutic practice. Published by Charles C Thomas in 1976, the volume is bound in orange cloth with black title panels and gilt lettering to the front board and spine. The publisher's circular "Thomas Books—Symbol of Leadership" emblem is blind-stamped near the lower edge of the rear board. Complete with the original illustrated dust jacket. A scarce technical work of potential interest to collectors and researchers in clinical hypnosis, hypnotherapy, behavioral psychology, psychiatry, psychotherapy, and the history of behavioral medicine. Condition Description Very Good in a Very Good dust jacket. Orange cloth boards remain clean and attractive, with bright black-and-gilt title panels and only minor evidence of handling. Publisher's original blind-stamped emblem present on the lower rear board. Binding is tight and sound. Pages appear clean and unmarked. A previous owner's pictorial bookplate bearing the name "Margaret Quin" is affixed to the front pastedown. No other ownership markings or annotations observed. Original dust jacket shows moderate age toning and discoloration, particularly along the spine and lower portions of the panels, together with light surface rubbing, scattered minor soiling, and modest edge wear. Jacket remains complete and presents well overall. Please examine the supplied photographs, which form an important part of the condition description.
