"A New Edition; With additional Notes; a Translation of the Latin and Greek Quotations; and a Life of the Author." An earlier edition was printed in 1758. Very good books in original boards with re-backed spines. Pages are unopened along the upper edges and some side edges in both volumes. Side and lower external edges are untrimmed. Many anatomical illustrations of humans, plants and insects. All illustrations present as listed. Vol I has a fold out "Physical Map of Europe." Vol II has "M. D'Azyr's (4-page) Table of the Functions or Properties of Living Bodies." Boards are soiled and stained, edges are rubbed through. Pencilled notes on the front paste-down in Vol I External page edges are age-darkened and soiled. Text pages are internally clean and text blocks are solid.
