Includes possibly the first French language translation of ?La Gyne?cocratie. Me?moires Du Vicomte Julian Robinson' . Tailhade's introduction is perhaps titillation masked as a vituperative attack on the ?weaker' sex and a caution against ceding power to women. The narrative by the ?Viscount Ladywood ' describes forced dressing and rule by petticoats, domestic discipline and corporal punishment and so on (with accompanying illustrations). Carrington and his circle considered it to be a ?classic' (op cit) of English flagellation literature and therefore worthy of translation and re-publishing (ibid). 218996.
