Condition: Good. 1962. No edition remarks. 132 pages. No dust jacket. Pictorial cloth covered boards. Black and white illustrations throughout by Szasz Endre. Hungarian translations of poems originally in Greek. Dedication signed by translator, Devecseri Gabor. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some moderate marking and tanning.

1 p. A dokumentum tanúsítja, hogy Fleischer Kornél demokratikus, baloldali, németellenes beállítottságú, az aláírók évek óta jól ismerték. Volt katonaként munkaszolgálatosok szökését el?segítette. Az üldöztetések idején az érintettek szökését és bujkálását el?segítette, a saját és családja biztonságát veszélyeztetve. Az ostrom alatt több írót bújtatott - többen neki köszönhetik az életüket. A történet pikantériája, hogy Fleischer Kornél 1944-ben Böhm Aranka, Karinthy Frigyes özvegyének szeret?je volt, s állítólag amikor Zalaegerszegr?l elhurcolták Auschwitzba, a pályaudvaron a kerítésen át kidobott egy levelet neki címezve. Ebben arra kérte szerelmét, hogy vigyázzon "Öcsire" (azaz fiára, Karinthy Ferencre). "Azt hiszem, mindennek vége." - írta le a végzetes utolsó mondatot. (Hiv: Karinthy Márton: Ördöggörcs; Borgos Anna: "A vadak királyn?je". Karinthyné Böhm Aranka). Fleischer Kornél a rábízott feladatot teljesítette, a fiú, Karinthy Ferenc pedig ezzel a gesztussal viszonozta azt.
