Hardcover. Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. Quite a reasonable copy for its age. Cover is bumped at the corners and top and bottom of the spine with a little loss to the surface. Areas of discolouration to the cover, back and front. (Please see scans.) The front fly leaf is missing, and there is damage to the back fly leaf. Previous owner's name in ink on the back of the fronticepiece along with a few remarks about Kit Carson's relationship with the author. Edges of the page block are browwned. Light tanning to the leaves. There is a set of initials in ink on the first page of the text which have bled through to the next couple of leaves. A little old insect damage to the end papers. Illustrated throughout with black and white engravings. 567 pages.
