Small octavo, pp. 188. Original grey stiff paper wrappers, lettered in red and black. Very slight bumping at corners of front leading edge, otherwise a fine, unread copy. First edition. Oceanic Press was established in 1958 as a rival to Maurice Girodias's Olympia Press. In the two years it was in business it published twenty-on…e titles, the first twelve numbered on the spine. This title was No. 1. According to Patrick Kearney, a printer's error resulted in some copies carrying two pages of an entirely different book on the rear endpapers: this copy does not. However, the number 1 on the spine of this copy appears not in the red spot, as noted on other copies, but beside it. A lovely example.
