Size: 28 in. in width x 16 in. in height. 42 lines of hand-written text in an English legal hand on a sheet of vellum which has a wax seal covered in paper on a vellum strip and the signature of Thomas Diconson; and an inscription on the reverse with two signatures. There are two hori…zontal folds and three vertical folds, and the document has been kept folded up. Wear present to the written surface, and some light staining present on a portion of the text and on the reverse. Partial transcription: "This Indenture made the Tenth Day of May in the Eight and Twentieth yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the Second by the Grace of God of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith &c Anno' Domini One Thousand Six Hundred Seventy and Six. Betweene Thomas Diconson of Lillingdon in the County of Middlesex Esqr. Of the one part and John Ellis of London Esqr. Of the other parte. Witnesseth that the said Thomas Diconson for and in Consideration of the sume of Two Thousand & one hundred pounds of Lawfull Money of England to him payd by the said John Ellis [-] All that Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtances heretofore called or knowne by the name of the Swanne Situate and beinge in the streete called St. Michaells Crooked Lane neare Crooked Lane in the parish of St. Michaells Crooked Lane within the City of London sometimes in the [-] of Sr. John Maynard and now in the tenure of John Loomknoll [-] In witnesse whereof the parties to these [-] their hands and Seales [-] the day and yeare first above written.
