Add to basketNo Binding. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Two separate early Spanish colonial financial documents : one relating to a grant of land by Capitán Conquistador Diego de Aguerro, co-founder of Lima & Quito, another to : a deed of sale of a vinyard and of a negro slave. 1. Grant of 7 fanegas 'de sembradura det trigo' (of arable lan…d) in Valle de de Cadete (San Vicente de Cañete near Lima) given by Capitán Conquistador Diego de Aguerro, town councillor and resident of Los Reyes to Doñá Ynes Montesino, his godmother and the wife of Francisco Rabanada in recognition of her good care of him. The donor, Diego de Aguerro, one of the original 160 conquerors of Peru together with Francisco Pizarro, took part in the battle of Cajamarca on 16th November 1532, when the Inca army was destroyed, and he received part of the regal ransom paid by the deposed king Atahualpa; he later served under Almagro in Ecuador as co-founder of Quito and helped to found Lima, where he was appointed a regidor and became a generous donor of benefices, especially to the religious orders. 2. Carta de Venta. Very early notarial property transaction of a vineyard of 2 fanegadas in the Valle de Yca in southern Peru, and of trading Juan Criollo, a eleven-year old negro slave. Both vineyard and slave sold by Diego de Montesino to Capitán Diego de Aguerro, town councillor and resident of Los Reyes [Lima], one of the original 160 conquerors of Peru for the sum of 2000 pesos. Rare early American financial document. Signed by Author(s).
