Bound in contemporary full speckled calf gilt, patterned endpapers, initial and terminal blanks present, decorative capitals, head- and tail-pieces, illustrated with 10 tipped-in folding plates. Condition: VERY GOOD. Binding tight and secure with the hinges and joints intact, the covers with light rubbing to extremities. Contents complete with some trivial scattered foxing, some old inking to one plate and title-page, old biblioteca bookplate to front pastedown and three old stamps throughout. Scarce. Notes: A wonderful and rare first edition in Italian dealing with the study of cosmology.
