Hardcover. Illustrated boards with brown spine. 39 pp. Color illustrations and frontispiece. A literary account of a Prussian boy and his family's emigration to California during the Gold Rush. Some reversible preservation work has been done to stabilize this book (spine rebacked in tone-matched Japanese tissue). Further conservation/restoration work may be undertaken if desired. G, some soiling to boards, binding loose, pencil marking on front endsheet, text and illustrations clean.
